Bee Speechley - London Marathon 2008
Sponsored by Applied Principles
March 2008 - Bee Speechley will be competing in this years Flora London Marathon 2008 on 13/04/2008 to raise money for Age Concern England . Bee is a long time friend of Applied Principles and we are pleased to support her efforts to raise £1,600.
Bee commented "I began running in 1993 after my daughter was born as a way to get back in shape. Over the years it has become an integral part of my life. For me, running is a great form of stress relief and allows me to maintain a healthy body and mind. I love the freedom of putting on my running shoes and going wherever my legs take me! The energising effect of a challenging run is incredible and leaves me able to focus and concentrate on other aspects of my life. I have tackled various races and events in the past, including the London Marathon in 2005. I am currently training 6 days per week, sessions include a variety of distances and speeds as well as gym work. I love the challenge that running a distance of 26.2 miles provides me with."
"I have chosen to run for Age Concern as I feel that older people deserve to enjoy a good quality of life. With 3.5 million older people living alone, many live lonely lives, often suffering from the effects of poverty. Age Concern offers a variety of help, including home visits, help with benefit forms, providing extra heating or clothing during the winter months as well as campaigning to Government for the rights of older people."
