Royal Show 2008 Review

Applied Principles exhibited at the Royal Show 2008 (organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England) at it's Stoneleigh Headquarters at the beginning of July and received a great response from various unexpected quarters. Since The Royal Agricultural Society of England was set up in 1840 it has supported farming and the rural industries by spreading information about the best in research, development and practice. It was therefore very pleasing that the Marquess of Salisbury, PC, DL (President of the Royal Agricultural Society of England) came onto our stand in the Business and Innovation Marquee on the first day to find out more about our paper free quality control systems.

Although affected by the blue tongue restrictions and the weather the show still attracted more than 100,000 people over it's new Thursday to Sunday format. Our stand enjoyed a steady stream of producers and public who wanted to learn more about the benefits that our systems can offer especially focussing on traceability, a very topical subject in todays food industry.

International Interest

In addition to the interest shown from UK visitors we also received visits from international guests, the most notable being the Ghanean delegation who invited us to their marquee to demonstrate the systems to officials from the Ghana Cocoa Board. Over a third of Ghana's economy is agricultural with Cocoa being one of the largest export products. In addition to demonstrating the Hornet-I to Pauline Dadzawa, Deputy Director of Public Affairs for the Ghana Cocoa Board, Our team also had the opportunity to discuss our products with Anne Nyamkye, the deputy minister of Agriculture for Ghana whilst being filmed for Ghanean Television.
